Hello Utrecht Uni!

In this page you can see a brief showcase of our latest projects and our main areas of work.

GAME DESIGN

Yemeni Conflict Serious Games

GIZ Germany commissioned a total of 7 serious mobile games as a vehicle to reach the youth in Yemen, unreachable to NGOs since the 2015-present conflict.

Each application funnels different positive messages such as overcoming tribal conflict, encourage disarmament and support female empowerment.

The ongoing project, currently spanning 3 years, is being developed in close co-creation with the consultancy team in Sana'a, whom we keep daily contact with. Our responsibilities range from the co-creation of the game design documents, to animation and UI design.

Local Yemeni artists handled illustration and sound design to guarantee the ownership of the project.

WEB DESIGN

Website Redesign for Engineering Research Company

NBM tech is a leading research engineering company. They plan, customise and execute research for those who seek to elevate beyond the industry standards.

They approached us for a redesign of their website that would fittingly represent them as the recognised experts they are.

We helped them sharpen their brand strategy, revise the architecture of their website, and art directed the project. Plus we learnt how cool topology optimisation is, and that sheet piles are not smelly at all.

See the website here.

ANIMATION

We Bring Stories and Concepts to Life

We crafted and animated different icons to highlight the sectors our client focuses on.

Practicing our animation skills with a public service message on the importance of good editorial design: Be nice to your text & your text will be nice to your audience.

ILLUSTRATION

Visuals for the Stomach and the Brain

We illustrated the speculative In Vitro Meat Cookbook for the Dutch Think Tank Next Nature Network, winner of the Dutch Design Award 2014.

How will the emerging technologies change the meaning and perception of meat? The book wants to act as a catalyst for debate, covering topics such as sustainability, food shortage, animal suffering and culinary innovation.

We regularly freelance for a range of clients including different columns for De Volkskrant and their Book Review section.

Office Manager,

Working with Bomburo was an absolute pleasure.
They were incredibly professional and efficient and were able to take our ideas and translate them into concrete design outputs.

Moreover, they were very flexible in incorporating our feedback on an earlier version of the design and were able to turn around a product incredibly quickly. Their expertise in design greatly contributed to the excellent work they did.

We would highly recommend working with them.

Bomburo was able to seamlessly take data and turn it into digestible and informative infographics. This is a testament to their ability to turn complex ideas and concepts into creative digital assets.

They were completely professional, reliable, and flexible. I would definitely like to work with them again in future.
