First of all we really like your work. Now that this is out of the way please have a look at what we do.
To be precise, an Alpha Bear from Amsterdam. Yes, buildings really look like cookies around here!
We've been working a lot with Unity for the last 2 years and it got us hooked. We started building our own side project during our free time, learning the basics of C#. At the same time this was a first for us diving into pixel art.
The rest was traditional frame by frame animation in Aseprite and looooong hours trying to understand why the Raycasting is not working %#!@#...
This is still a work in progress.
GIZ Germany commissioned a total of 7 serious mobile games as a vehicle to reach the youth in Yemen, unreachable to NGOs since the 2015-present conflict.
Each application funnels different positive messages such as overcoming tribal conflict, encouraging disarmament and supporting female empowerment.
The ongoing project, currently spanning 3 years, is being developed in close co-creation with a consultancy team in Sana'a, whom we keep daily contact with. Our responsibilities range from the co-creation of the game design documents, to animation and UI design.
Local Yemeni artists handled narrative, illustration and sound design to guarantee the ownership of the project.
Lots of character animation goes into the games we've been working on. For these ones we chose to create all the animations inside Unity.
The artwork was created by a Yemeni artist.
Here is "Dudi" the Yemeni bird that helps you in your adventures.
This is Eduo, the Yemeni character that stars in our endless runner game.
We crafted and animated several icons to highlight the sectors our client focuses on.
Here we are practicing our animation skills with a public service message on the importance of good editorial design: Be nice to your text & your text will be nice to your audience.

This is a short animation we did to thank our friend Seb for inviting Bomburo on Dribbble. The assets where drawn by hand, the animation was done in After effects.
It was our first Dribbble post and it got 865 views and 60 likes from fellow designers and animators!
See it on Dribbble or Vimeo for high res.
We are Bomburo, a multidisciplinary studio based in Amsterdam composed by Stratos and Silvia. We have experience in UX/UI design, Game design, Branding, Art direction, Illustration and 2D Animation.
We give priority to projects that initiate positive transformation at a societal, cultural, and environmental level. We understand we are responsible for the work we create, so we question stereotypes, challenge social norms and strive for fair representation.
When we don’t know, we do research.
Working with Bomburo was an absolute pleasure.
They were incredibly professional and efficient and were able to take our ideas and translate them into concrete design outputs.
Moreover, they were very flexible in incorporating our feedback on an earlier version of the design and were able to turn around a product incredibly quickly. Their expertise in design greatly contributed to the excellent work they did.
We would highly recommend working with them.
Bomburo was able to seamlessly take data and turn it into digestible and informative infographics. This is a testament to their ability to turn complex ideas and concepts into creative digital assets.
They were completely professional, reliable, and flexible. I would definitely like to work with them again in future.
