GIZ Germany commissioned a total of 7 serious mobile games as a vehicle to reach the youth in Yemen, unreachable to NGOs since the 2015-present conflict.
Each application funnels different positive messages such as overcoming tribal conflict, encouraging disarmament and supporting female empowerment.
The ongoing project, currently spanning 4 years, is being developed in close co-creation with the consultancy team in Sana'a, whom we keep daily contact with. My responsibilities range from the co-creation of the game design documents, to animation and UI design.
Local Yemeni artists handled illustration and sound design to guarantee the ownership of the project.
NBM tech is a leading research engineering company. They plan, customise and execute research for those who seek to elevate beyond the industry standards.
They approached Bomburo for a redesign of their website that would fittingly represent them as the recognised experts they are.
We helped them sharpen their brand strategy, revise the architecture of their website, and art directed the project. Plus we learnt how cool topology optimisation is, and that sheet piles are not smelly at all.

Creating impressive visuals from scratch is a big part of my work as a designer. Supporting the content with impactful imagery is an excellent way to grab the user's attention on these precious first few seconds! Then it's up to well thought copy and clear typographic hierarchy to keep them engaged.
I am Stratos and I am co-founder and designer at Bomburo, a multidisciplinary studio based in Amsterdam. I have 10 years of experience in Graphic and Web design, UX/UI, Game design, Branding, Art direction, Illustration and Animation.
With a wide range of competences I can approach design problems with a flexible and diverse mindset. I combine a deep understanding of the technical aspects of production with strong art direction and a keen eye for detail.
